While Conner goes into self-exile in the Taran Empire, the world around him continues on its collision course with great forces from the past. The being known as the Deceiver has brought back great powers to the realm of Man, awakening a lost race who aims to protect the world from the dark forces they had thought were eradicated eons ago. Friends become enemies and enemies become friends as the tiny kingdom of Karmon becomes the center of intrigue and suspense.

I really like the series so far.In this instalment, Conner finds himself in prison in Taran. Their prison though is basically the Colosseum of old with gladiators fighting with other gladiators from the other quarters of the Colosseum.
The Knight fighting style is very reminicant of idea of Medieval Knight which base their techniques on brute strength. (Medieval Knights didn't really fight this way)
The style that the Sak'Hurai has feels very similar to the Samurai (the art that I am most familiar with). Just just with two katanas instead on one.
I find it hard to believe that the Taran empire, who is the richest nation known in this universe, Centurions have the worst fighting skillset when they could spent a lot of money on the art of war. They also have been at war the longest in this universe. More than two hundred years. I would have thought that in that situation they would have mastered the art of fighting and warfare must more than any other nation. Especially with the competition between the East and West companies. The Taran empire feels very Roman.
Deceiver = Devil
One god = God
Very fimiliar concepts there.
I also felt the pacing to be a bit off for my liking, but that might just be me.

Last Knight Champion Chronicles Volume 2 Brad Clark 9781518798122 Books Reviews
It is a very good book with good characters and a nice storyline.
Quite a few typos
The story was a comfortable read with good flow. Sentence/proof reading errors were few and insignificant. New characters were given time to develop. I enjoyed it!
Great read
Good read. Conner does some growing up. The story suffered a bit from the middle book syndrome, but it did a great job of whetting your appetite for book 3.
I finally had a day off to read this book. It is a good book. It picks up exactly where it left off in the last book. I can't wait for the next one. It will be preordered when it c o mens available.
Conner leaves Kamon and learners about the world. The plot takes him to the Empire, where he learns more about bad people and the human situation in general. There are some grammar errors that better editing will fix. They don't detract from a good sword fighting story. I wait expectantly for book #3.
