Am an old man: response to "How are you?" being "Been hanging on so long, I've started to swing." Thanks to Marie, I'm SEEING MYSELF in a NEW PERSPECTIVE and thereby am inspired to SHATTER the constraints imposed upon me by swinging too long from the same tree. I'D SWING, is the first of four sections of poetical expressions, appropriately named. The other three are those capitalized above. Marie's sensitivity to the beauty of nature, joined with her power of poetical expression, associated with the spiritual, psychological, social, political, and for me personally, the metaphysical, insights her writing provokes transcends a generation gap between teenagers and octogenarians. I'd Swing, is the first of forty-eight poetical and literary expressions, ending with "But time is pushing forward, Even if I am ever-swinging. I open my eyes and walk away." Slipping Seasons, the following poem, provokes a personal feeling for the passages of seasons and of changing times. The One Thing That's For Sure is a personal account of memorable experiences, creatively expressed, and ending with "our memories are forever."This is immediately followed by Junk Drawer, containing many things from chewing gum to rubber bands. This drawer spiritualized inspired me to chew upon the many junk ideas I have often chewed upon in my drawn out experiences in life which I snap together with a band of tightly held theories. In PERSPECTIVE, containing 16 entries, Army After Army, ends with "Despite defeat The violent sea, will never give up Sending army After Army in hopeless thought of Victory." This is another pebble of truth thrown into the great ocean of life. Marie is a creative writer, inspirational, sensitive, and precious. On first reading I recalled the sentiment, Life is an art and we are artists all, and there is no purpose to life than to sense beauty and add to love. I'm not sure about we, but surely Marie is a creative artist with great potential deserving of our recognition.
